Everything about Brooklynn Rae is original.

From her carefully curated style, which calls upon a selection of decades of thrift store fashion, to her collection of over twenty songs that each have their own story and memories attached. Brooklynn Rae uses her voice like a river, etching a path into the Earth around it. Soft, yet powerful she creates a space for herself and others with her music. Her songs are a blend of indie-folk and dreamy-acoustic soul, held firmly together by her acute magic for an authentic true to life style lyricism. She uses her soft guitar melodies and soothing warm vocals to wrap you up in a blanket of stories she has weaved around you. Her songs are difficult to be unaffected by.

She began penning songs in 2012 under the warmth of a summer of solitude, drawing inspiration from any muse that could borrow her affections. Kent, OH became a special place where she was able to grow not just in college but also musically. You might find her tucked away in the back seat of her cramped Ford Focus dreamily scribbling down her thoughts about pomegranates and if you popped into the local guitar shop you would see her sharing one of her special new songs at an open mic. She developed a taste for performing and sharing herself with others through live-music at an exhibition for female power and art called “Female Energy”. Some of her proudest moments since this debut in 2018 include, opening for the legendary Cat Power at Bogart’s, collaborating and releasing her first single on streaming and vinyl with local artist “Leo Pastel,” headlining a set for Blink Cincinnati, and playing over 60 shows in 2019. Her proudest accomplishment still in the making is to come in the new year.

Brooklynn Rae will be releasing her debut EP “Faces” in the Spring of 2020 and continuing to share her love and light at a local venue near you. Please come visit :)
